I came here for a birthday on Saturday night in a large group. Sash provided outstanding service, props to the host looking after our table, he was very accommodating and attentive even in a large group. We had the feed me and it was delicious. Highly recommend for large groups or small.

We recently revisited Sash Japanese for a second time and the atmosphere was just as pumping as our earlier visit. This time
We were in the thick of it on a small table near the back of the venue. We sampled a few familiar favourites and some of their new fusion menu items on offer.
We turned up on Taco Tuesday which is a whole lot more than Tacos as it incorporates sliders and margaritas as well… all 2 for 1 which (two of the same flavour) so this represents incredible value every Tuesday night.

We tried the wagyu beef taco and the pina colada foam coated king fish tacos which smelled equally as good as they tasted. We tried both the sticky pork and chilli mayo prawn sliders of which the sticky pork was the standout for me. They were impressively presented with dark buns and plenty of substance.

The Sashimi and Blue Cheese pizza with sriracha and a wasabi mayo came out next … this one was a controversial pick as neither myself or my plus one could agree on a pizza flavour. We were split in our thoughts of this pizza with me loving the blue cheese and heat from the sriracha & wasabi. While I found it all worked well together, my plus one remained unconvinced.

Easily up there as one of the freshest dishes of the evening was the thinly sliced salmon carpaccio with mandarin and an orange ponzu sauce. We chop stick battled for the last salmon slice. It was radiant. Our savoury for the evening was finished off by a 4 piece of tropical salmon roll. This was quite a sweet dish so possibly good that it came so close to dessert.

Now desserts are definitely worth mentioning. Some might even say these were a highlight. We tried the apple crumble pizza with a berry ice cream and a caramel miso sauce. Um … seriously I only read midi after we ate it and I really didnt notice this. The apple was thick and baked and there was a almost popcorn burnt butter taste about the crumb which I could stop eating. I enjoyed this dessert pizza very much, probably too much.

We also tried the macaron ice cream sandwich which was a stunning looking dish and very insta worthy. We ordered it with salted caramel ice cream but it seemed to come out with choc chip ice cream so didnt detect a salted caramel flavour. The macaron was actually quite hard and crunchy probably from being chilled or frozen so didnt have the texture I was hoping for. I never did discover what the blue jelly balls were on the plate as well… they added additional texture.

I really enjoyed my meal in Sash Japanese. Some of the flavours worked were you wouldnt imagine they would so certainly give it a go… especially on a Tuesday where good value can be had.

    Thanks again for having us.

Dined here for the first time last night for a mates birthday in a group of 14. We all opted for the feed me option for $50 per head. Did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic and came out promptly. All dishes were explained by the great staff, drinks were also fantastic! Will 100% return.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences Ive ever had. When I arrived, I let them know my booking information, they said they couldnt find it and were ready to turn me away but obviously someone had already arrived at the table and they took it off the list, there were 2 more people going to arrive, this is a silly error.

When everyone arrived, we ordered a bottle of bubbles from our waitress. It took 25 mins for it to reach out table and not without me prompting our waitress to chase it up. The bottle had warmed up a bit, which means it was sitting on the bar for a while…

We all ordered the feed me to make it simpler and we wanted to taste all aspects of the menu. First to arrive was the kingfish sashimi which was nice, followed by the tuna tacos, which werent great. The tuna was extremely fishy, which usually means its not fresh. Then to arrive were the chilli mayo prawn sliders, which were chewy and tasteless. The worst thing was when they arrived, the waitress said they were pork sliders, one of the girls on our tables who doesnt like prawn, ended up taking one. We tried to get the waitresses attention to let her know but she seemed more preoccupied with a table of men next to us…

Then after a 30 minute wait, some tuna sushi arrived.but the annoying thing was the tuna was so fishy and dry. We ended up having one each because we didnt like it. Then more sushi arrived and it was tuna again! Which we didnt want, but the waitress almost threw the sushi down on the table and ran off because we could say something. Another 25 minutes later, we still couldnt get her attention and it seemed like she was purposely ignoring us and inappropriately flirting with the table next to us. We managed to get hold of another waiter and told him we had been at Sash for hours, items were missing and we hadnt received anything yet.

He then came back 20 minutes later with more tuna sushi! We told him instantly wed already had the sushi. Then another 30 minutes later, the famous Japanese pizza arrived with tuna on it! 2 pizzas and both had tuna of it. We only have a few slices and obviously werent happy. After all this we just wanted to leave, it had been such a long night and the service was shocking. We finally got a hold our the waitress, told her our meal had been really disappointing, we just wanted to leave and cut the feed me short. We said wed pay for the items we had if its cheaper than the feed me.

Then once again, a long time later another server came up to our table and started asking what the issue was in quite an accusing manner. We all explained the slowness, delays, the issues with the meal and a lot of dishes were tuna, which tasted old. She continued to get very defensive and said well thats not true is it, there have been other dishes that werent tuna. I said thats not what I said, I said a lot of them, not all of them and youre ignoring all other aspects of this evening. She then went through everything we had on the menu to add it up, she was saying it quite loudly, almost like she was trying to embarrass us in front of the other people dining in the restaurant.

The man said he was going to bring us a shot of something to say sorry and never returned. I ended paying $250 for a meal that was disgraceful and for a service that was so rude and unprofessional. They didnt offer any discount and the worst thing was it was supposed to be a birthday celebration, which they knew.

I will not be returning to Sash. It was an absolute joke.

Cant believe it took me so long to try Sash, especially since ive known about it for months but i finally found the time to visit today and it was definitely with no regrets!

Service was great, amazing recommendations given on their various dishes however they were a bit slow to realise we needed service and to top up drinks.

Food was so delicious! My favourite was the crispy chicken bao and the buttermilk chicken, they were both mind blowing! The taco was delicious as well as the soba salad, however the slider was slightly disappointing, tasting like something that could be bought from your local bread top. Margarita was a hit for me but its definitely on the stronger side (or im just lightweight).

Overall i 100% recommend visiting Sash, the food is so innovative and delicious and theres so many different dishes to try! Ill definitely be back for more, thank you for having us!

Food very well presented. We love everything that we ordered. We had king fish sashimi, salmond volcano, salmon main, kids loved the apple and pork pizza though it may be a bit spicey for some, buttermilk fried chicken, sliders and dessert.

Everything was lovely and tasty. Just bewarn do not iver order as they have a policy to not allowed any take aways of left over food to preserve food quality.

[Rated 3.5] Japanese food is one of my favourite cuisines, but sometimes find it a little traditional and can lack interesting and new combinations, so I was excited to try the fusion dishes at Sash. We stopped on a Friday night without a reservation. The place was busy, but we were able to get a table for two with a wait of only a few minutes.

The Wagyu Tataki was the stand out dish. I liked the combination of flavours cauliflower wasabi and the beef was cut a littler thicker which gave it a nice texture and was really flavoursome. The Sesame Pomegranate Salad, Pork Bun and Crispy Chicken Slider were all delish as well.

The Prawn Rice Pizza was fine, but the problem was the rice base it was quite chewy and a little sweet. My guess based on the other reviews is that it is not this way by design and something went wrong in its preparation on this occasion. If the base were light and crisp it would have been a great foil for the creamy and fresh flavours of the prawn and mayo which were well executed.

The service was not particularly attentive and it seemed like they were understaffed. However the wait staff were friendly and seemed to be doing the best with what they had.

Wine tip is the Harcourt Valley Chardonnay lightly oaked, fruity with a dry finish that matched the food well.

I would come back to give it another go as I really like the concept.
