It’s an old-fashioned family-run business – they grow their own produce, including chicken and quail eggs, vegetables and fruit, make honey from their own beehives and lemonade from their own lemons, bake their own bread, scones, tarts and cakes, make their own jams and pickles, and churn their own ice cream. The homemade ice cream flavours that day were vanilla, stracciatella (vanilla with chocolate flakes), butterscotch cream, mango and coconut.

Rustic Friendly Fantastic. As a Tour Coach driver, I had driven past this wonderful cafe so many times. It wasn’t until one of my groups booked their lunch there that I discovered a venue that was close to my heart. A small family business doing business the old fashioned way. Great food and coffee, and Rupert’s home made Lime Cheesecake should be illegal. Annette and Rupert strive to produce most of the vegetables in their own garden, which shows on presentation. To date I have had their wonderful Satay Chicken & Rice and a Curry Beef, both not to hot, (but a nice Hot and Spicy Condiments plus fresh homemade pickled vegetables are supplied for those whose would like something extra) Both served with Steaming freshly made bread. Followed by Home made Mulberry Icecream, and of course the Lime Cheesecake!!. . A work in progress, this recently heritage listed property is well worth the short drive to Bakers Hill.
