Standard pub fare. Perfectly edible. They have bar food as well as a restaurant. Don’t make my mistake of setting your sights on a t-bone after seeing billboards in the street – that’s bar food and not available in the restaurant.
Food was good when it eventually came out but being the weekend of the motorcycle festival and the place being full i will give them the benefit of the doubt time wise. Kitchen was probably swamped with orders. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. I’ll try it again on a non festival weekend..

Not a bad spot for a beer and old fashioned pub food in a country town. The staff were very friendly and that is really what distinguishes it from other pubs and restaurants in York.
Service is pretty poor, incredibly slow. Had to get our own menus after 35 minutes waiting for the staff, long wait for drinks and food. Food is good service needs to catch up.
