  Always on a the lookout for good fish and chips and I have had this place on my todo list for years. Finally I was nearby and needed dinner on the run. It’s a straight fish and chip shop with chairs and magazines for waiting only. I asked which fish is good and was told they are all good so I ordered fried mackerel ($9) and a small chips ($3). Most fish was the same price except for emperor at $12 so prices are quite reasonable. I also asked that the batter be thinly applied. About 7 minutes later I had my order which I took away to eat.The fish was excellent; a thinly battered plump cutlet of moist white yummy fish. There was even a second small portion of fish. The chips were nothing special but certainly acceptable – no old ones, none over or under-cooked.Maybe it was because I had mackerel but this was the best fish I’ve had from a suburban fish shop in Perth (6 years). And the fish was fresh which helps a lot.I’ve only rated it 4 because it’s a fish and chip shop after all. Maybe it could go to 4.5 if I was able to sample more things on the menu and found everything to be consistently excellent.

  Always spot on, have never had a serve ever fall short. Crispy chips, tasty fish. The family who runs it are always friendly and professional. Glad it’s our local Fish and chips

  Never had a problem here. A great little chippy; simple family business that doesn’t pretend to be anything more than it is. I always have chips, fish and squid rings, though the Fisherman’s Basket is also good. Yes, the don’t have EFTPOS but that’s not a major hassle for me!

  The saving grace was the chips and they could’ve been better. I ordered the single special and onion rings and a pineapple fritter on the side. I got one piece of fish instead of the one and a half in the special, bad onion rings that weren’t crispy and had a weird oniony mash inside, a pineapple fritter that wasn’t crispy enough and a dim sum & crabstick that were each equally as disappointing as the fritter and rings. The fish was actually alright. The only reason I’m finishing all of it is because i’m broke and haven’t eaten anything but a few crackers today. I advise that the cooks check out the same food at the fish and chip store next to belmont cinemas and take some tips from that. Even their onion rings aren’t perfect but they are better that what I’ve just been served.

  Fantastic Fish and chips ! the best in the area, the Spanish mackerel is just amazing and they cook it to perfection ! I just wish they sold mushy peas :-). Great value , great service, great food. All our friends agree, after a fish an chipsupper over Easter. See ya soon , Steve

  100% the best chips In the Bayswater area.I’d give 5 stars but why in this day and age, would you not invest in a simple Eftpos machine? I’ve avoided this place so often simply because I have to make an extra stop to get cash out. It makes the red rooster drive through seem like heaven. How many other people, do you think do the same thing? You’d get more than a decent return with Eftpos. UNLESS of you are dodging your taxes ? Ay?Get Eftpos !

  Best Fish and Chips I’ve tasted in Aus – been here two years from NZ, which of course has the best Fush and Chups. Consistantly good, friendly staff with added little extras like lemon which is served seperately
