Don’t bother with this place, because basically you may or may not get served a meal. For example, if the sign out on the street entrance says lunch served until 4, and the sign at the front door says today lunch served until 2, when someone comes to the bar and orders food at 130 it would be reasonable to still take the order. Instead I was told no and when I queried was told sarcastically tough luck as the chef is leaving early today. Also the cider tasted like poor home brew. I recommend going to any of the really nice cafes on Bridgetown’s main street, or Scott’s Tavern is great for a drink.
Having the sweet tooth that I do, I was excited to be passing through Bridgetown while the Cidery was open. On a previous visit, we arrived too late for a meal and tasting, but today we were in luck. The place has a very cottage kitchen feel to it, and the staff are warm, welcoming and friendly. Food and tasting trays are well priced. The menu is not particularly adventurous and the 3 blackboard specials were sold out by 1:15. We opted for snapper fillets and beer batter fries, plus meat nachos. The fillets were a good size, but fairly thin and a little dry. Fries were good and the side salad refreshing (although I don’t recall seeing a wedge of watermelon in a garden salad before). The nachos were warmed up either in the oven or under a salamander and the cheese was tasty and stringy, with a good dollop of sour cream as well. No complaints here.
Fantastic food and drink, ciders outclass the competition and the beer is worthy of a mention. Lovely atmosphere in the garden. The fireplace makes it worth a visit any time of the year.
Fantastic little spot with great food and amazing service. We were passing by Bridgetown and we called to book a table for a late lunch. They were closing the kitchen shortly but advised they will wait and keep it open for us. We arrived with our extended family and ordered some ciders and meals. The burger and fish meals were delicious and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the self. The indoor area is kept very clean and has a lovely decor and the outdoor is dressed in natures best. The staff were very friendly and accomodating and we will definitely be back. Must see destination.
A nice cellar door for tasting the ciders, with some classic and country feels. However, the staff was not quite welcome for us to do the tasting. Also, she was not quite keen on introduce their products. At the end, we only have tasted 2 ciders, one dry and one relatively sweet. Nevertheless the bottles may be open for quite a long time, it did have some sourness which is not the normal taste I think. Wanted to try some beers and wines too but not at the end. We ordered some beer and food for lunch, not the best one and quite dear in price. Overall still worth a visit.
