Decided to try this place after looking at he roasted meats hanging from the window. We had the two meats with noodles (i chose bbq pork and crispy roast pork) and the roasted chicken rice. We only found the food so so. The chicken in the chicken rice had more bone than meat. The noodles were bland and didnt have much flavour. The bbq pork was dry and hard. I did like the crispy roast pork though. Not sure if I would come back for the food.
Overpriced. Im not sure who did the pricing on dumplings but just know that we do not like you. Firstly we ordered, BBQ pork with rice, beef brisket wonton soup, satay chicken, steamed pork dumpling and our favourite Shanghai dumplings (Xiao long bao). I believe it was around $7.20-$7.30 for dumplings which was ridiculous as you only get 3 which by the way was not great, the pastry of the dumpling was hard on the top and there was no soup which is the main highlight of this style dumpling. The steamed pork dumpling was decent, nice and juicy but the soy sauce which was given to us made the dumpling taste weird, sort of a tangy lemon flavour which we are not a big fan of. But the stay chicken was good, chicken was tender and not dry and sauce was quite good. The wonton soup was also lovely, light flavoured broth, which briskets tht were amazingly tender and wonton was Devine. The BBQ pork was also fantastic, nicely cooked not dry and great seasoning. Overall, lovely atmosphere, great decorations, fast and pleasant staffs (btw, no table service you need to write down ur order and hand it at the counter), order the main dishes instead of the dumplings, youll get your moneys worth as its $14-$20 for main dishes.
Pretty quick and nice service. You just mark your order on paper and bring that to the cashier to pay and order your meal. Be sure to ask for water as they only bring it if asked. The food was hot and filling but nothing to talk about.
The atmosphere was good. The food was good overall. We ate here on two occasions in the past week. Heres what I think of each of the dishes: sticky rice (so good I had it again), roast combination (bbq pork , duck and roast pork so good that I had it again on its own), laksa (Its a good tasting dish), wonton noodle soup , pork steam buns (average), hockkien noodles (so good the kids finished it) and 2 types of hainanese chicken rice (the soy one tastes better than the steamed one). Drinks: we had the avocado smoothie (), coconut juice () and red bean drink (average).
