Loved the food !! The place is a little far (if you are walking) from the central location of other food joints. No indication of a restaurant being nearby. When we reached, the place had just one table occupied, but within half an hour, it was packed with people who had prior reservations. So if you want to visit, better to have a reservation beforehand. We ordered satay chicken, Thai green curry and chicken in basil (with something that I have forgotten now). All things were really good and with generous proportions. The mains did not have accompanying portions of rice( like most places do), but we ordered a separate portion and 1 portion was enough for the three of us. The beers were rather inexpensive as well and they have BYO for those who want to get their own drinks (we got wine, so not sure about other drinks). Ambience was good and the staff was friendly and cooperative.Overall, would definitely recommend this place!

Trying to find a good Asian restaurant in WA country towns is not easy. Here is the exception. The Joop Thai Restaurant – despite the awful name and a change in the ownership – is delightful. All the Thai favourites you would expect, but with one really classic dish that is recommended: The Duck Chef’s Special. Honestly, it is superb. Also we found the chicken curry really nice as were the fish cakes and veggie spring rolls.A fairly bland setting as a restaurant, but with nice surroundings and happy and professional staff, this is a really good destination for those looking for good quality Asian food in Albany WA.
