As I sit in my boring office and eat porridge for lunch I’m actually thinking of the delicious lunch we had yesterday at this lovely little cafe. Four of us enjoyed a the all day breaky menu with all our faves. He had a bacon and egg burger and then got severe lunch envy. I had a beautifully presented and really yummy breaky bruschetta with bacon, roasted tomatoes, feta and perfectly poached eggs with a dash of basil pesto. Junior had his fave pancakes with banana (which was caramelized so he didn’t eat it!) and Miss S had the green breaky, spinach, eggs and gluten free toast. The service was polite but bringing the meals and drinks to the tables was ad hoc. I would prefer it is all served at once, so we can all eat together and all have hot meals when we do eat together. If you go here, have a wander through the gift shop and nursery. Its a lovely end to a good cafe experience.
Came for breakfast and ended up having homemade Italian spaghetti meatballs because the looked too good, and the staff were excellent. Very warm and welcoming environment with bright young employees. Coffee is the best around and would for sure recommend.
Food was very nice, was cooked perfectly. The coffee was the best I’ve ever had and the barista was very fast.Polite and friendly staff that seemed very committed too their job. Overall great place.Harold Billie
I would give this cafe a -5 if I could. I’m not sure what has happened to this place or who currently owns it but a few years ago it wasn’t such a bad place to eat at as well as nice staff and ambience. I came in today for a late lunch with my mum. When I was ordering the food I already knew it was going to be bad. A couple of young guys working behind the counter that all looked like they had just rolled out of bed. Scruffy, long hair not even tied up, dirty old clothes and the guy serving me was coughing a lot which was really off putting. One worker was sitting behind the counter with his back to the customers folding napping and cutlery together. The place was cold and dreary and had no warmth to it. The tables were dirty and it was as if we just walked into someone’s house that was too lazy to clean. Mind you it was cold and raining outside too. I ordered 2 coffees one with milk and one with cold water on the side. When they arrived, the milk and water were seperate in little jugs to the black coffees in the cups. Ok that’s not a problem…but they were full to the brim. How do we fill up our coffees with milk and water? It wasn’t even nice coffee. I ordered a salmon salad for my mum which was just lettuce, cucumber and tomato with a French dressing and smoked salmon on top…for $16. And 1 piece of toast on the side for her which came 15 minutes after her salad and there was 2.I ordered the veggie burger and chips for myself. I asked for no Aioli and tomato sauce on the burger instead and made sure the burger didn’t have any other dairy which I was assured it didn’t. My food arrived and I looked in my burger and it had Aioli. So I took it back and they apologised and said they’d make me a new one. When the second one arrived I looked inside and sensed it wasn’t a veggie burger at all. And when I cut the ‘grilles field mushroom’ it was grilled chicken breast. I took it back and they said they’d fix it but at this point I was over it and I asked for my money back so I could get out of there as quickly as possible. Not sure how our order came to $40 or so dollars. Honestly, I’m really disgusted with this place. Lack of care, really bad first impressions of the people working there and just a really lousy feel in the cafe. I’ve worked in hospitality and cafes for many years so this lack of care really gets to me. Don’t bother wasting your time of money here.
Definitely don’t like yellow cheese sauce on my Eggs Benedict, it’s supposed to be Hollandaise. Pancakes should be light and fluffy, not thick texture like cake and 3cm thick. Didn’t enjoy this experience at all.
insipid coffee, watered down ‘fresh’ juice, and pancakes that took 25 minutes to arrive, smothered in warmed frozen berries, 20mm thick and tasting like play dough. the waiter said the menu item of croissants and nutella was traditional Parisian fare! It’s a sweet-toothed imitation of the worst american cafe you can imagine.
Really, really disappointing. This was my childhood favourite, and I had fond memories of coming here after school with my siblings.I went for breakfast on a Sunday. Juicer was broken, food took 50 minutes to get to us AND the pancakes were overcooked and bland. Will not be returning.
