A great fun place for the family.Pizzas are nice and all prepared in good old fashion french style.Service was great from the young friendly staff.
Allegro is neither fast nor lively. 45 minutes for the first pizza to arrive. All orders were staggered too! Rest of the mains took more than an hour. The restaurant is at less than 50% capacity on a Friday night so I doubt the kitchen was too busy.
This place can be a bit hit and miss. Some nights you go there and get the best service and really well cooked food. Other nights, you can’t get anyone’s attention (and I’m talking Saturday night when they should be keeping an eye out) and the same great dish you ordered before isn’t as well prepared or cooked as before. On several occasions I’ve been there, the mosquitoes underneath the seats have had a field day! Don’t they spray under the chairs, benches? Pizzas generally nice but as I said at the start – hit and miss.
Freshly made pizza! I have been here a few times but can’t seem to get past the pizza. Maria and chicken pizzas are recommended toppings. Delicious, the crust thickness is perfect not thick nor thin and crispy. Decor is a bit gaudy but in an endearing grandma’s fav things kinda way. Casual dining and family friendly. Def worth a try!
Unfortunately had a similar to experience to peperoncino last night. You know when you eat food that’s SO salty, you’re thinking – this must be taking a week or two off my life. Avoid the ‘Allegro’ pizza if you don’t want a coronary. Perhaps the rest of the menu is better but I won’t be going back for pizza any time soon, which is a shame.
Quaint decor circa 1980s, somewhat frantic staff and good food mean I’ll go back if I’m hungry, have time to wait, can handle the noise and feel like a hearty pizza rich in flavour and big on value for money. Great place for a group to share a meal. Head and shoulders above the quality of pizza chain outlets.I love buying their fresh pizza dough for a few dollars and making pizzas at home. What a brilliant option!
Had a great experience at Allegro’s on Monday night. The restaurant was pretty empty and we were served quickly. We ordered the Fettuccini All Abruzzese and the Fettuccini Marinara with the Salcicci as an entree. So happy to have an Italian menu with a bit of variation! We didn’t have to wait long for our entree. Just after we’d finished the entree our mains arrived. All 3 meals were fantastic! My girlfriend found the food a little too salty but I felt it was authentically salty for Italian meals with cured meats. The hand cut pasta was excellent. Pricing is very reasonable considering how good the food was, the nice atmosphere, staff and location. You could argue that some of the booths could do with refurbishing but that doesn’t bother me, the rest of the decor makes Allegro’s simply a nice place to be. I will definitely be coming back.
