Amazing food and great service. We went with the whole family and the kids had a great time playing around the Tipis. In my opinion the best pizzas and pastas in Claremont!
Super cool giant tipis on the grassed area, bean bags, picnic rugs, great pizza and BYO – this place is epic! Very casual and family friendly vibe.We tried the Proscuitto pizza and Pumpkin & Feta Arancini Balls – they were so good. When I was there on a Sunday they also had live music, a bouncy castle for kids and a pop up bar with $5 beers!
On a night that was not busy at all we waited a very long time. Eventually 2 wait staff came out with an order that looked like what we ordered so we called them over from another table. It was ours. Apparently their table beepers don’t work. The pizzas were stone cold! The garlic bread was also cold and stodgy, no crunch at all, like it had been microwaved. The pizza baseds were thick and doughy. So unimpressed! Absolute waste of money!
PIZZA AT THE ROYAL SHOW WHEN THERE IS NO ROYAL SHOW…..What a great idea to use the otherwise empty Royal Show Ground facilities to create a great pizza cafe.Plenty of parking and plenty of room for the kids to run around. But the best part is the food. Pizzas that are made with home made dough and by using high quality ingredients. We have eaten four types of pizza plus their pasta dishes over recent weeks and all have been superb. Prices are not ‘super cheap’ but reasonable for such quality.Great effort by friendly young staff who make quality food in a very casual and ‘easy’ environment..at The Royal Show!! FOOTNOTE: On 29th December we went back once again and found the pizzas underdone and gluey. So disappointed. We just hope that maybe the chef was on leave and this was a one-off slip as it’s not super cheap here and with the legendary Chelsea Pizza just up-the-road, it’s the quality that brings people to this establishment.
To be fair to the staff they were very busy and the kitchen is small so my review is not on the work ethic of the team. Like anything that becomes popular the business model needs to adapt to accommodate which is tough here given the size of the kitchen. After an hour wait we did get our pizza’s which were good but the pasta was absolutely terrible. Cold penne which was flavourless and not worth the $19 for one small bowl. The spaghetti was no better. Pizza 4 stars, Pasta 1 star, wait time 2 stars, lawn area and family friendly vibe incl byo 3 stars. Overall though grabbing a pizza elsewhere and sitting at a park on a nice summer’s evening might be a better option.
Ordered last night the garlic prawn and greek lamb. Got the pizza delivered in 35 minutes which is awesome for a friday night and was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.
