Was looking for a special dining experience to share with a group of friends close to Subi on a Sunday night. Not much open so ended up choosing Hyun. Must say I was pretty excited about the prospect of a Korean fusion and thought this really could be fabulous.Decor was nice and considering its on Stirling Hwy it was remarkably sheltered from traffic noise.We really enjoyed the entrees. The chicken wings are great, the aranchini good and the pork dumplings were really tasty.The mains however were disappointing. I had the pork. I expect pork belly to be rendered down so that the fat melts through the meat leaving it juicy and tender with a crisp skin. This was fatty, the skin not crisp and despite such a modest portion I couldnt finish as it was too rich.The duck had been pre-cooked and not heated properly so it was cold. The flavours in the lamb simply did not work. The best dish was the chicken which inspired me least from the description.Desserts were ok but not at the standard is expected. This restaurant reviews very well and was recommended by a friend who knows food so perhaps it was junior chef Sunday or something but sadly Hyun did not live up to our expectations.
