I believe this place has recently been taken over by new owners. The food is nothing short of fabulous. The satay is cooked in the traditional hot coal method, the Balinese Chicken is very tasty, the Nasi Goreng gets top marks and the salads are just the freshest you’ll get anywhere. The staff are friendly and helpful. Yes, it is a whole 10 metres off the beaten path and up some stairs, but truly you should try this place. Can be quiet, but at least you can hear each other talk. BYO makes it a winner as well. Liquor store right across the road inside CQ (next to Jack’s).
Pricey food which is not so good on flavour or ambience.Summer seating is uncomfortable, restaurant has only two tables in air conditioning. The seafood laksa noodles was awful, couldn’t even finish the serving.
Love the weekly specials.. Nasi kerabu, nasi dagang and banana leaf rice was awesome.. But food is pricey… Service is great.. Would definitely be back for their specials.
The menu was quite authentic with a modern twist. Bit pricey for the quality and quantity of food. Service was a bit lacking in that, staff was friendly but were neglectful when it came to bringing out dishes without cutlery and not directing us on how to order/pay (the restaraunt claims to do table service). Very lovely atmosphere and great presentation.
Nasi kerabu tastes authentic like the one in Malaysia. The chicken is amazing with the smoky taste. Love The single meal with mutliple elements like the fish crackers salad and salted dark egg, not just rice and chicken:)
Meals all came out at different times, ordered Laksa which was served with spaghetti instead of noodles, servings were small, service was unfriendly and all other meals were of underwhelming quality.
IT IS A WINNER FOR ME & ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT !!!. I had the Scallop Risotto which was an absolute Gem for anyone who loves Risotto !!! I will be back for the Risotto for sure !!! You only need a Main course with being good sized meals. We are not big eaters either so the vouchers prices are ideal for smaller eaters like ourselves!I found it in Scoopon Website, looking for meal deals vouchers to take my Niece out for her 19th Birthday dinner from me from last week. Is value for money with the voucher for myself. It is good value for money for location! It depends on people’s budget with what they can afford with going out. For me the meal deals vouchers makes it affordable for myself at this moment to be able to go out more with being at the marketing stage with building my businesses so money is tight till then. It is in Claremont, is in a quiet location for a lovely night out with loved ones. Is perfect for anyone who love the more quite locations like many of us do! I love the decor with a modern feel to it!The one negative of the night was the Laksa having Italian Spaghetti in it, would not recommend it. THANK YOU FOR THE ENJOYABLE NIGHT TAMARIND CAFE! 🙂
