The owners ought to be kicked out!. My wife and I dropped in for a late lunch coming back from South Fremantle as it looked like a nice little place on a lovely beach/grassy area. At least the beach/grassy area was nice. There were three items on the menu (Kids seafood basket for $20; Pie, Chips and Gravy for $12; and some curry for some unknown price). We chose the Pie and Chips – what we got was nothing short of atrocious! The pie was without doubt a Black and Gold 6 Pack pie and there was literally only a handful of chips spread over the plate to make it look like a larger amount. And gravy? Nope… a small dish of BBQ sauce. My wife complained and the 16 y/o girl at the counter who said she was the highest ‘manager’ there simply smiled and shrugged.Worst place I have ever been to.

Had the coogee salad.. Delicious and extremely big also had a banana smoothie which was to die for reasonably priced for the size of the meals

Expensive dinner. My husband and I went to dinner at Coogee Cafe tonight after phoning to see if they served spaghetti Marinara..our favourite meal which we choose 8/10 times when eating out. We consider ourselves experts on the price and quality of a seafood Marinara. We had eaten this particular dish here a few years ago and it was delicious, but the shop had different owners then. We had noticed over the past year the quality has diminished. The average price of this dish even at the better restaurants and clubs is $22-$26 max.with lots of good seafood.Tonight it cost $29, so we thought this had better be good. WRONG! When I phoned I was told they only had Fetuccini pasta but thought that would be OK. There were no prawns, some cut up pieces of pink salmon, and the smallest mussels I have ever seen, which appeared to be a little slimy, and a few squid rings. This amongst a disgustingly large serve of thick Fetuccini. We were so disappointed esp as the price was so exorbitant for a cafe. We could have gone to a good restaurant for that price but decided as we live locally to give them another go. All the prices were exorbitant on the menu.We used to frequent this cafe in years past, but as we have other choices and feel the quality and also the friendliness is lacking have decided not to return. Not even for coffee.

Kids Toasted Sandwich….. On Thursday last week, I ordered a ‘Kids Toasted Ham & Cheese Sandwich’ and very wrongly assumed that the hefty $8.90 price tag would include a drink or side order of chips for my little one… How wrong I was. Just two very dry pieces of bread, not even a scraping of butter on them, 2 very cheap pieces of ham & a little melted cheese, cut in half.As a local, I will definitely be visiting the gorgoeus Coogee Beach again, but Ill be by-passing the Cafe.
