Makaan Mumbai is on the Broadway level of Broadway Fair, at the back. It’s only been open two months and there’s no sign on the entrance yet. Inside, the restaurant is clean, with enough seating for about a dozen people, and there is always seating downstairs in the shopping centres’ courtyard if you choose a takeaway. It’s priced to cater for uni student, and there’s a steady stream of them enjoying the hospitality. The lady who served me is a delight. Really friendly and polite. She has free oranges on the counter and encourages us to have a complementary drink with the meal we select. My gado-gado ($5 or $8 with beef) comes with the free drink, and is a little on the oily side but hey, I love the attitude so much I will be back. Maybe I’ll try a vegetarian dish next time. Thanks for the wonderful service and generosity of spirit!
