My sister & family has always been visiting Wagaya frequently the past two years. Unfortunately, it seems like they have changed hands recently and standard of food and service has dipped tremendously. Below photo is our most recent experience on last Friday, 1/12/2017. One of the items we ordered for takeaway is salmon roll sushi, and this is what was given to us. My bro-in-law did not want it and politely rejected to get that box of sushi but they insisted that he has to take it and pay for it and they will compensate him with a can of Kirks. I think this is the most ridiculous $6.50 salmon roll sushi we have ever been given. It is majorly disappointing and we are definitely not going back there ever again.
Honestly my favourite Japanese restaurant in Perth lately since Kiri Japanese in Shenton Park closed down & only open for dinner. I always get the agedashi tofu and beef tataki…never disappointed. Service is amazing and so friendly, they recognise their regulars! Only let down is the atmosphere as it could be more bright in the dining area!
