I was a guest at Joondalup City Hotel for a week during which time I had three dinners. The serving sizes were bigger than expected, all the food was well prepared and fresh, and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating.
It’s hard to put into words how bad the service was, although hopefully things have changed! Made a booking a week in advance for 15 for my birthday only to turn up to see my friends pulling tables together themselves. Was promptly taken to the manager’s office ( school flashback, anyone?) and berated for thinking we could eat there- apparently the booking was written on the wrong day. After having to demand to be allowed to stay, we were allowed only two menu items to choose from, ( a vego friend was told she could have chicken pasta with the chicken taken out) we waited 2 hours for food, to have just 2 dishes come out, cold. JCH has become a byword for poor service among some of those who walked out with me that night. Probably ok if you are staying there and ordering room service but I would never risk it again. Thank goodness for Lion Thai down the road!
