It’s so refreshing to find a decent cafe that doesn’t charge the earth for everyday food and drinks. For the quality of the food served, the prices are amazing. $5.50 for a pot of tea and a slice of cake is wonderful, $4 for a toasted sandwich is even better. I was so impressed with the prices and the comfy, welcoming decor. Would definitely recommend this place.
If you are looking to shovel your food and gulp your drink then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a place to order and stay awhile, then ferget’about’it. I have never been asked to leave a cafe before (now pubs are another story 😉 but both my table and the one next to us were asked by the manager if ‘we weren’t ordering lunch to move on as other people want to eat out of the cold’. Floored. I was there with a friend, we had brunch and three coffees between us but that was not good enough for them. So my suggestion, get some bar heaters, put more tables inside, benches, cafe blinds and/or remove the homewares from half the shop to accommodate your patrons in the cooler months. We were more than happy to share our 4 seat table, hey isn’t communal dining the in thing anyway? So I was going to say not too bad of a coffee and the food was good too but this experience has left me with a double tap burnt expresso taste in my mouth. There are other places that will happily allow two females talking quietly amongst themselves to stay more than 5 minutes.
Love this local cafe. The Nutella Bomb milkshake is the best I’ve ever tasted! Lovely cakes and great service. Cute decor and I love the vintage items for sale in the shop. I’ve recently discovered it but am now a regular. Looking forward to trying to savouries soon.
One of the nicer cafes close to my suburb. I love meeting friend here. The quirky decor and cool concept of the colour and the blackboard make this a great meeting place. The vibe is always electric and they are always very busy. Good chai latte, although on the small side.
Came in for takeaway coffee- it was absolutely rubbish. Just because you used the double filter basket and pressed the double shot button DOES NOT make it a double shot if you have no idea what you’re doing. I had 1 sip and double checked she’d put 2 shots in- I was assured she had. Got them to add a third ‘shot’ to my flat white and it was still weak as.
Loved Red Retro. Lovely lunch and loved the Yorkshire tea, nice freindly staff topped it off.
Lovely Ladies xxx. I popped in today for the first time and I have to say the ladies behind the counter were so lovely. I didn’t have the time to grab something to eat but I was really impressed with their little gift shop. Filled with retro vintage inspired products I got my hands on a couple of tin signs which were not badly priced at all! I will definitely be coming back to Red Retro for a coffee and to sample one of their many cakes :3
