Super beautiful cafe with lovely gardens. Its really well kept and the staff actually care about their produce. We got a delicious taste test of the chocolate and sat down to enjoy drinks in the garden. The coffee was good. The milk chocolate milkshake was surprisingly not sweet yet very tasty. Definitely worth the visit.
My son had fond memories of visiting Swiss Annie’s as a youngster and wanted to take his girlfriend there on a recent trip to Denmark, WA. We planned our outings around their closing time of 4.30pm and arrived there at 3.45pm on the way back to town. Apon ordering a drink we were told that they were not serving anymore drinks. We asked why as 45 mins to closing. They had a back log of orders! Need more staff obviously. Items for sale very expensive. Nice gardens. Lacking friendly and efficient service unfortunately. 4 bite size chocolates to take away.. $12.00!
The bright coloured sign saying ‘chocolate lounge’ on our way to Denmark town caught our eye. Seems like a lovely spot for a chocolate hit. Although there were other signs as we passed through the entry warning to ‘keep your children close’ made it seem like a non family friendly spot. The interiors and exteriors were well kept. Impressive gift packs, a licensed bar, it was very much for adults enjoyment. And the tasting plate of chocolate was generous. We couldn’t fault the chocolate. We bought some pastilles to keep us going, but only stayed for 5 mins as there wasn’t much there to keep the rest of the family interested.
Pretty gardens but the real reason we went back for a second visit was the hot chocolate.Sensational. Piping hot milk and pieces of their locally made chocolate which you drop into the milk. What a delight! It’s a great way to cap off a lazy lunch and scenic drive.
