Busy Italian restaurant on a Tuesday night. Garlic bread was really delicious, the bread was cotton soft and not the usual crusty hard bread. The portions of the pasta look small at first but definitely very filling. Although the tagliatelle delicate sauce was creamy and tasty, the pasta was slightly undercooked. The meatball spaghetti was just right
We met family here for a lunch on a Thursday. The decor is nice and the service was very prompt. I had the garlic prawns which were nice and hubbie had a pizza and the base was delicious.A little pricey but nice food
The service friendly, and attentive, without being intrusive. The restaurant itself is spaciously laid out and the tables are well setout and clean, with the exception of the questionably designed salt and pepper holder. The quality of the food is mostly decent but overall a step behind the price point, and in a busier location such as Perth to the north it will certainly face much stronger competition. Portions are overall generous. The menu has a strong affinity to parmesan which seems to appear on most of the dishes. The pork belly with poached pear was a delicious combination. The mushroom bruschetta was tasty although the thick piece of toast used is somewhat off-putting. The lamb shank for the main generously included two lamb shanks which were extremely tender in a tasty ragout sauce, and at $32.50 it was one of the very reasonably priced dishes on the menu. It’s a shame that Zomato doesn’t have half-stars anymore. In the case of Nicola’s I can only round up a 3.5 up to 4.
Went together on Sat night with another family with younger kids and had fantastic food and ambience. Great choices available on/from large menu.
I’ve been to Nicola’s three times now with family and friends and can say without hesitation that the service and food deserves higher praise than some of its Metro counterparts. The wild mushroom bruschetta has to be tasted to be believed. I’ll be going back.
