• Just Another Foodie

  Just got back from a meal at the White Elephant.  This was our first visit.  The service was friendly and efficient.  Thankfully the restaurant isn’t too noisy.  For mains we ordered the chef special roast duck with orange sauce and crispy noodles.  This was a really fresh dish.  The orange sauce was nice and light but the whole dish was lifted with plenty of very thin slices of fresh orange. It could have done with more crispy noodles though.  We also ordered ginger and chilli stir fry with pork.   I really liked this dish. It has just the right balance of ginger and chilli.  But the real test of a Thai restaurant for me is the green curry.  While this one was good, it wasn’t outstanding.  The flavours weren’t as light and fresh as they could be.  So it tasted like green curry but was just missing something.  My go to place for green curry remains the Royal Siam in East Perth.  The serve sizes are very generous here. Overall it was a nice meal.  I’d probably be happy to go back but wouldn’t be too upset if I couldn’t.

  Beautiful thai restaurant in the heart of bunbury complete with its thai ambiance. The staffs are also super friendly. They even offer to look after my bub so that we can eat peacefully. That’s how family friendly they are! Unfortunately i find the flavour is not strong enough – well to be fair – I come from cbd – where there are more thailand food – it is safe to say that perhaps White Elephant is the only one (or one of the handful) thailand restaurant in bunbury. I am not saying the food is not good, in fact they are decent, but honestly in my humble opinion, the curry can be stronger, the fish can be spicier, the pad thai can be more ala thai.

  Beutifully decorated restaurant with amazing Thai food. We had the deep fried marinated duck in plum sauce and crispy noodle, stir fried glass noodle and tom yum soup. Food was delicious, service and ambience is great.

  Very nice restaurant. Lovely and efficient staff. We had pork skewers to start then chicken stir fry and Massaman curry. Both delicious. Would be happy to come again
