A great value little cafe with a surprisingly extensive menu of burgers, sandwiches, hot box fast options and takeaway shop options (including corn jacks!!) but you’d go stray if you didn’t try their authentic Vietnamese dishes. The staff are really friendly, it’s good value and one of my better choices on this strip of boring overpriced toasties, coffees and takeaways.

Vietnamese Banh Mi Thit is an absolute must try if you’re coming here! 88 Royal is mainly just a normal deli but the rolls are out of this world!!

88 Royal Cafe now under new management and the Vietnamese Food is really good!! Although this is only a lunch deli but they do serve up a few classic Vietnamese dishes…. At the moment on menu they have 1. Com Tam( broken rice with pork chop ) 2. Pho 3. Bun Bo Hue 4.Bo Kho 5.Bun Thit Noung ( pork chop with rice vermicelli) 6.Bun Cha Gio & 7.Special Vietnamese Vegetable Curry & Rice … Oh nearly forgot The Classic Vietnamese Banh Mi Thit!!So far I had tried the Com Tam & Pho and Vietnamese Ice Coffee… All very good and special mention especially the Pho was truly authentic!!! Will definitely come back…

A gem in East Perth- A review by Food Fer-naticI would say they serve the most authentic Banh mi that you can get in Perth. Simple but fresh and tasty. The meat in their banh mi were also made fresh rather than bought from stall. Pair it up with their vietnamese ice coffee, the best combination to enjoy a well deserved lunch. You may want to order them through phone as they can get really busy at lunch time. It will take them a while to make banh mi as they want to provide the freshest bread roll for customers but I guarantee you it’s worth your wait!If you fancy a big lunch, I would recommend their Pho and other summer noodle dishes. The broth for Pho is flavourful and you can easily taste the richness from the beef bones. The noodles were also cooked al dente. Their cold noodle salads are a great option for a really hot summer day, refreshing and flavoursome.Don’t let the size of this deli fool you. I was glad to have tried their food and from their lunch preparation, the owners definitely place freshness and quality as their top priority.

New friendlyowners, new menu, great customer service and quality food at reasonable prices. Beef Pho noodles are a must-try for Pho fans. I go there at least once a week.

What a let down! With so many choices in this area and with Beaufort streets variety around the corner, my wife and I decided on 88 Royal, for the amazing location and setting on the water etc. Staff were not too bad in getting us seated and taking our drinks order, but it ended there. Food took a while and seriously, for a place like this, is this the best you can slap up? Tasteless, uni voting presentation and frankly a total waste of money and previous we wanted to spend at a great location for a special lunch! What a let down. Someone needs to get in kitchen and seriously kick some butt because for a place like this, your food is a joke! We would have been better off at the little kiosk style cafe next door.
