People’s Inn is at the East end of Hay Street, and serves a variety of traditional dumplings and soups. All dumplings are hand made, you can see them being made as you walk in. It’s a casual cafe, where you order first and then sit down. This is a fairly short post because I tried the fried cabbage and pork dumplings for my lunch one day.
This is my FAVOURITE place! Always come here and order the Dan Dan noodles, the chicken wings and drumsticks and all their dumplings are amazing. Never had a bad experience here. Highly recommend.
Casual dumpling/noodle house. Came for dinner and ordered the prawn & chive boiled dumplings (pretty good), the pan fried vegetable dumplings (nice), and the green chilli and beef noodles (tasty). Nothing overly special but the dumplings are fresh and authentic.
Tried this place over the weekend. We had the Chinese egg and chives pan fried pie; pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings; noodles with minced pork and bean sauce (dry); and the boiled pork and chives dumplings. We really enjoyed the chinese egg and chive pie. The outer layer of the pie was crispy and chewy. Great textures. We preferred the pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings over the boiled ones, only because we love the crispy and chewy textures. Definitely coming back to try more from their extensive menu.
