These guys aren’t bad, but personally I prefer Fuku a little further down the road. Sushi at Royal is a little bit cheaper, and good value for money, but not a good quality as Fuku.
Quick Japanese takeaway open Monday to Friday for office workers in East Perth. Sushi is a little on the pricey side but you can get it in brown rice (50c extra) from the sushi to the hot meals. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here but it’s a good option of you’re in the area.
This place used to have more authentic Japanese food. Not sure if the business has changed hands, but the food standard has definitely been affected. The sushi rice is quite stodgy and gluey, disappointing particularly when you consider that half the pleasure of eating sushi is the mouthfeel of those distinct glossy little grains of rice.
Not bad….. I come here all the time for convinience as its right next door to work.My biggest gripe is that most of the sushi rolls are THIN and TINY. They slap you $6 for one when they are no bigger than a $3 handroll.I like that they do brown rice sushi but that attracts a 50c surcharge. They are tasty though but it does upset me that I’m paying $13 for two brown rice handrolls and I’ll be hungry again by 3pm.Hot meals – I rate the teriyaki tofu/salmon/beef, karaage, katsu but their teriyaki chicken is terrible – really dry and tough. Good for the health conscious I guess because it’s skinless and hasn’t got an ounce of fat on it because it’s been totally rendered out. Fuku Sushi down the road was a kazillion times better but now that they’ve changed owners too, Sushi on Royal is probably the winner.
TASTY FAST FOOD. Try the katsu chicken meal, good taste and generous serve, enough for a starving tummy, only 10.5,not bad. + good and efficient service, recommend 1st lunch spot in on royal st.29 Dec, 2013Nice & neat lunch spot. Grilled teriyaki salmon sushi rolls fantastic. quick service and nice meals. katsu chicken combo meal always my favourite.
Change to worse. I work in East Perth and have been to this shop at least twice a week for the past 2-3 years. Exellent food, fantastic service and affordable price. Unfortunately as of late the quality of the food is lacking. Being a Japanese food aficionado I can easily tell if they are using the proper japanese rice or a cheaper long grain rice in their dishes. Please use back the proper rice as the cheaper ones doesn’t taste as good.
Tasty Japanese sushi. Always like their fresh sushi. also many hot dishes to choose from, cheap and tasty. Service quick and effective. definitely ideal choice for office lunch.
