Well it’s probably time for a fresh review because my experiences have not been like the negative reviews below at all.The Ariston is a family run lunch bar with reasonable prices and service with a smile. The staff make a genuine effort to learn the names of regulars and you can tell this just by sitting down for half an hour and watching them greet people at the counter.Their Curry Egg sandwiches are very nice and the Burger with the lot is also recommended.Don’t expect anything in the way of decor and you’ll struggle to fit any more than three to a table, but if you live/work nearby and want good, honest lunch bar food then don’t let the old reviews below deter you from visiting this place.

Dodgiest cafe ever!! Prices change daily depending on their mood and they have very little to choose from ready to go.. Coffee tastes similar to burnt dishwater, and their burgers an kebabs are bland and flavorless.. Much better off going to the cafeteria across the road in the department of health. Much more friendly, cheaper and better quality!!

Wowee. All I can say is The Ariston Cafe needs to work on it’s menu prices. Prices do not match the menu board and when questioned they just advise they are old prices. Also depending on which day you go in or which owner you get some prices on simple toasted sandwiches may vary.I once ordered a chicken and cheese sandwich for $4 and when made it was a chicken and avocado sandwich. I said I would still have it as I didn’t have the time to wait for another one and they said that would be $5. I tried to question this as it was there mistake shouldn’t I only be charged the original $4 but no I had to pay the $5.Fair to say I have never returned!
