I have never been so DISAPPOINTED in a restaurant enough to write a review. I believe you should know the truth about this place. We were welcomed into this restaurant by the lady boss saying we won’t REGRET our decision. Once we were seated and given the lunch special menu upon request. We asked for recommendations; however, we were given NO PRIVACY AND SPACE to consider what to eat. They kept recommending sweet and sour pork or tomato stewed beef even though we were not interested. We wanted to eat something spicy and ended being asked to eat the dishes with one chilli rating because they thought we couldn’t handle spice. Once we picked our dishes, the lady boss didn’t asked whether we want soft drinks or soup as our complimentary side dishes as it came with the meal or even the type of noodles that I ordered for my main. I thought this was UNPROFESSIONAL and DISRESPECTFUL. Midway through our meal, I found a HAIR in my cumin beef. I notified the waitress, but she played it off as a strand of coriander. It is unfortunate that I couldn’t take a photo because the waitress consulted the chef and failed to acknowledge the incident. NOTE THAT THE STRAND OF ‘CORIANDER ’ was BLACK AND THICK. The waitress disposed the strand and brushed off our enquiry. We decided to finish our meal quickly and proceed to the cashier. We asked for the 10% discount that was advertised outside CONSIDERING how they didn’t do anything about our UNHYGIENIC EXPERIENCE. I would have hoped to have the dish replaced or removed from the bill. However, the waitress claimed that the discount had expired. I explained that if the promotion has ended they should display it clearly. Furthermore, during this dining experience they communicated in Chinese (they didn’t try to make an effort to use simple Chinese or English terms) and due to our poor Chinese ability we could barely make out what they were saying which made payment extremely difficult.
I’ve had this on my radar for a long time and today I was craving an Asian chilli hit. I ordered one of the lunch specials (chilli chicken with rice and soup – $14), and not only did it satisfy my cravings, it most definitely did not mess around. Excellent flavours and textures and well worth the money.
The restaurant is busy. Service is alright. It takes a while for them to serve us. The pork and salted egg tau fu are not bad. Overall, the foods are salty. We drank lots of water.
As I walked into the doors. I was greeted in a professional way unlike other Chinese restaurants around the area. The waiter politely lead us to our table of four. The chairs and table had a feel of casual formal restaurant feel. A quick glance around and the art and decor was well put together. The menu was fun to open. It was leather hardcase. To open the menu was like opening a gate. I guess to the chilli kingdom. The menu and pictures where well placed and appetizing. I went for the dry pot pork ribs and chilli and cumin beef wok fry with steam rice. As the dishes where brought I could smell the cumin, corriander and various other spices. The smell itself got me hooked. Oh my the first bite of the pork rib was insane. It felt like my taste buds where getting invaded. I could feel the warmth of the chilli, the numbness of the peppers, the cumin and flavour of the wok shone through aswell. All this for the price of $26. I will definitely come here more often.
