Had the Godfire and Black Tori Ramen. Broth are rich for both types and noodles have a good springy texture. Serving size is small and toppings are limited, so be prepared to add-on extras. Just be aware that the price can easily add up too with the add-ons you order.Karaage chicken was not bad, but the dumplings were pretty average. This place offers customizablespiciness for its Godfire Ramen from 1 to 35. So, if you’re bold, daring, enjoys a good fiery and spicy challenge or love sitting in the toilet, this is definitely a place you need to visit.
Best ramen in Perth so far. I LOVE this place… been a few times….the black tonkatsu is heavenly with a strong delish garlic flavour; and there’s one with the mince on top (I forget the name) which is lovely too. The free spicy veg on the table is a MUST. So gooooood.
Great Ramen, a bit of a line outside and pretty rushed and noisy but a great base soup with lots of options to add in. Try the flavoured egg….. Was so tasty and beautifuly cooked. We loved it and will be back. I have never been to Japan before but think this would be pretty close to the real deal. Yummy food! Lunch for 3 and a toddler with tea and extras $60
If you’re sane and not an idiot, I would not recommend doing @HakataGensukeWA God Fire level 35 challenge on an empty stomach (the exact thing I foolishly did ). If you can handle chilli, know that this isn’t impossible. It would burn a bit, hurt a bit, but all pain would eventually pass.Arien settled with original tonkotsu , while Kevin started out with God Fire level 5, Lewis and Steph stepped up to level 10 and I alone tackled level 35. When we were told that we could try the new and improved mixture of chilli , we welcomed the idea because to be honest, we didn’t have a point of reference anyway. My ramen arrived a dark shade of red, turning noodles an orange hue. The broth was no longer soupy, it was more like chilli paste at this point. Who knew what kind of chilli went in there but I could identify the nuttiness coming from sesame seeds that wasn’t present in level 10. Perhaps that’s the new recipe they were referring to. My tastebuds didn’t mind the chilli kick at first but as the heat and spiciness combined , I chose to swallow the soup straight instead of having it touch my tongue first. The chilli wasn’t aggressive and didn’t instantly attack the back of my throat but it lingered way longer than it needed to. It wasn’t an impossible task though, I emptied the bowl eventually and ticked another chilli challenge off my list.I gotta say that although it was burning me from the inside, the soup actually spoke volumes. It tasted good and wasn’t spicy just for the sake of being spicy. They could have used much more aggressive and punchy types of chilli but they didn’t and that’s the Japanese way. Even when they try to torture you, they’d be as thoughtful and considerate as possible. instagram.com
Who doesnt love a good bowl of ramen!? And that is exactly what this place serves in a bowl…good ramen! It tasty, delicious and reasonably priced too. Great service and friendly waiters.
One of the better ramen places in Perth. my husband loves the broth and he loves ramen. I love the hard chewy noodles (you get goldilock options of soft, normal and hard) with the broth. My only gripe is the same with pretty much like every other ramen shop in perth (except Kai Japanese) – there are very little condiments (chasu , etc) that comes with it and you have to order extra if you want more.that doesn’t stop me from coming back anyway…
I was expecting quite a bit from this ramen place after all the hype. I had the black garlic tonkatsu with less saltiness option and an egg. The broth itself was very weak flavor and extremely watery not as thick as ramen usually is. It definitely didn’t hit the spot. My fren who has been there multiple times also mentioned she had never had such a bad ramen at that place. Not sure if it was a bad night for the chef or whatever but I was severely underwhelmed. Might give it a try another time but not desperate to go back any time soon. Only positive was we got there just before 5.30 so didn’t have to queue and quick service.
