Great location and decor. I love the grassed area and the pay it forward ‘suspended’ coffee movement. I love the simple atmosphere of the place, it’s unpretentious and relaxed. Service was good however I think it was the manager telling everyone what to do like it was mcdonald’s or something and that really brought my rating down. That and my eggs benny with bacon was disappointing as well. Firstly my eggs looked like they were fried in a ring, there was superfluous lettuce pieces scattered on my plate as well as tomato underneath the eggs. A good benny doesn’t need a lot of fuss just good elements. Poached eggs. Bacon, ham or salmon. A layer of spinach goes a long way. The one thing going for it was the hollandaise. Whether it was homemade or bulk bought it works. Stick with it. Still has the potential to be is good as it apparently used to be. Just tweak a few things. Don’t shout orders at the staff from across the room. If they dont know what they need to do them find people who do.
It’s super cosy here. Inside there are seven two-seater tables. There are a couple of four seat tables outside. There are posters covering the walls and fake candles on the tables. It almost feels like you’re in someone’s house, with the floral plates, heart shaped spoons, and cup handles shaped like ears. There’s quite a variety of coffee, and the decaf is quite good. The muffins ($4.50) are average. There’s an assortment of other cakes and slices. (You can get a slice of cheesecake and a coffee for $7.50. The mixed berry cheesecake is nice, though the serving seems a bit small, but is filling enough.) The smoothies are the same price as the milkshakes ($6.50), which is rare. The value of the food varies – some things are on the cheaper side ($12 burger; $10 French Toast), whereas others are more expensive ($20 salmon with potato salad). The lady serving was friendly.
Saturday 5th December24hrs and now called Cafe Aurora cute tiny little place operates with a restricted menu late at night but also 24hr breakfast menu. We had a chai latte and shared an omelette both tasty and I loved the different plates. I would be interested to go back and try their lunch menu
Absolutely delicious cheesecake, it was the best cheesecake I’ve had in years, not too sweet, very easy to eat.The service was fantastic, Elsen was very kind, and easy to talk to.
Awful cafe. Awful waffles. Awful food.
Good Cafe. Such a rare find.. Drove past this night cafe the other day & decided to stop by yesterday to try out their homemade waffles made fresh right before our eyes. you gotta try it! My wife had the white choco berries infused waffles while i had eggs benedict with ham on waffles. Definitely a hit with us. Coffee was good too. The young gentleman working there told us more specialty infused homemade waffle recipes are well on their way.. Hard to find cafes around night time so will definitely be back again.
Waffles! Cosy Cafe. Finally a place which sells waffles! Can’t say no to a good serve of crispy, hot waffle topped with Ice cream & maple syrup. Definitely be back with friends to hang out next time! Friendly service staff 🙂
