This ramen place has been open for a while already and we finally decided to come and try it out on a Sunday night. We arrived just before 6 and got a table straight away but by the time we left this place was packed already, so if you dont want to wait for a table better come early. Had miso ramen, mixed vegetable tempura, gyoza, and fish cake. I enjoyed all the side dishes they were so yummy especially the vegetable tempura!! Fish cake had a subtle sweetness which I really liked also. But the ramen was just so so, noodle wasnt very stringy and soup tasted very normal. Portion size is good and staff are friendly. Wouldve given it a 5 star if the ramen tasted better. Please do try the tempura is you go there.
Ramen Samurai blossomed during the earlier ramen generation in Perth. After nearly 2 years and despite the rise of other ramen joints, they still stand tall and hold up their end of the ramen game . Their tonkotsu broth is simmered for at least 10 hours and Ramen Samurai is one of the few places that make their own noodles daily.Even though the black garlic ramen was great and all, with garlic oil not overpowering the delicate flavour of tonkotsu broth , the real MVP here was my shio ramen ! I never really like shio broth that much because like the name suggests, most places make it super salty, or just salty but tasteless, but not at Ramen Samurai ! This was light but full-bodied, just salty enough to bring out the pork flavour in the soup. I especially loved the noodles, they weren’t thick like those of commercial brands but not thin like the Hakata type. Chashu was melting in the mouth and gotta love a runny ajitama. It’s hard to compare Ramen Samurai with other good ramen shops because while their tonkotsu broth is not the best, it’s a combination of many things that makes it an endearing place . The ability to reserve tables, variety of soup bases, number of side dishes and freshly made noodles would satisfy even the pickiest eaters. And if you don’t like it here, no hard feelings. Hakata Gensuke and their massive line is down the road. instagram.com
