I have lived in Victoria Park for a while and last night was my first time to the restaurant. Impression: lack of Japanese restaurant standard. Poor menu presentation: small font and not pictures to reference. Small portion: the portions are small so dont expect to feel satisfied after a meal.Tasteless or salty: there is not freshness of the food but indeed the salt overpowers the entire meal.Confusing Ambiance: why an old Japanese restaurant has English jazz music playing the the background. Just odd.Poor food presentation: sushi cut is just unprofessional. I can do better than that!In conclusion: will not go back again for around 40 per person.
Food is very authentic and very fresh…. that’s if you get it! Have been here many times but the wait is more than 30 – 45 minutes. That includes ordering take away! Its also pretty pricey for what you get. It’s a shame as the food is great, service is great just very very slow!
I’ve never been to Senoji in Victoria Park. My friends keep telling me how great it was, hence we went and try it out. I was disappointed with what they have on offer. Half the specials on the board were sold out to start off on a Saturday evening at 6:30 pm. We have 7 people dining at Senoji, we just ordered the entree. There was nothing to wow about. I don’t think I would return to this restaurant again. The food was either too blend or too salty. We ordered the sashimi dish, the fish was actually frozen and thawed out. We were not impressed at all.
