Hmmm… where do I begin..We decided to do a take away to take a break from cooking. We found this place, them being one of the few open on Boxing Day. We ordered via the phone. They took the order and we picked up ten minutes later. We ordered their sweet and sour chicken, squid tentacles and kung pao squid.Squid tentacles and sweet and sour chicken were battered to death. They were so thickly coated that we had to peel the batter off as we ate. The tentacles, once extracted from its suit of armour, was palatable. We couldn’t find the chicken in the batter and when we did, it was some stringy bits of chicken. It became a game for my husband and I to find the chicken. The kung pao squid was also yucky. The squid tasted of bicarb soda which had been used to tenderise it and the sauce was sauce thickened with corn flour slurry. They used Chinese wine, I think, for the sauce and didn’t cook out the alcohol so we could taste that too. I make my own kung pao dishes, following a recipe and I can assure you that my kung pao dish is waaaaaaaay better than theirs. All in all a major disappointment. The only salvation is that we made our own stir fried vegetables and rice and didn’t spend any more that we already did.

Ordered a delivery through menulog which was punctual. Food was hot and fresh. We tried the honey chicken (batter was too doughy), garlic king prawns (not bad but not very garlicky) and Szechuan chilli squid (sauce was more sweet than spicy). All in all, it was alright.

Amazing chinese food! We had the sweet and sour pork which was such crispy batter, not doughy at all and the sauce was neither too sweet or vinegary. The beef chow mein with crispy noodles was a superb mix of beef and fresh veggies and water chestnuts which no one seems to do anymore but I simply adore!! The sauce was so lovely in texture with the garlic and salt at perfect levels. The jumbo fried rice had actual prawns in it, not tiny shrimp and the bbq pork pieces in it were so flavourful. Will definitely be back.
