You can always trust this place to get something sweet to satisfy your craving. Decided to get the pistachio cannoli and ricotta slice. The cannoli was my favourite. The shell was thicker than your standard one however I still really enjoyed it. It was so crispy! The filling was creamy and had a generous serve of pistachio nuts. Also loved the filling of the ricotta slice, super creamy with chunks of sultanas for extra sweetness (but not too many which I preferred). The base was however a let down as it was soft and didn’t add much texture to the slice. We couldn’t go past the aranchini balls. I preferred the veggie one over the meat. It was so cheesy.. yum! Will be back for more!
Nice pizza by the slice here which is good because you can have a couple different flavours and the Italian cakes are also really nice. They have a good variety of cakes to choose from.
Went there for a treat and happened to spot several fruit flies inside their display shelf. Told the lady who was standing behind the counter and she just replied oh that was normal then completely ignored us afterwards. Not long after a guy came out from the kitchen and asked us if there was anything we want, we told him about the flies and the lady’s response. To which he responded no that is not normal and went right ahead to check the shelf… My sister loves the cannoli here but I don’t think we will be back again :/
Don’t let bad service drive your customers away. I’m a regular and I would presume I would be a familiar face. I stopped by after shopping at Charlie’s supermarket. I did have frozen food in my trolley. It takes 2 people to serve 1 customer and another to have a good old yarn. Didn’t care I was waiting for 10 Min. Not even the courtesy to tell me they’ll be with me shortly. 12 Min later I’m gone. You lost my business that day. The next time we came in all your beautiful small cakes were on top of the counter being fly blown by all these flies. As we ordering something from another cabinet my husband and I were shoowing the flies of the cakes, we mentioned can’t you cover the cakes while you clean the cabinets. Mind you I didn’t see anyone cleaning them, the response was there is nothing we can do about the flies. Ok so I wasn’t buying small cakes that day and I wonder if I ever will again.
Today we felt like a sneaky treat so we went and got ourselves a chocolate profiterole, a custard mini cannoli and a chocolate mini cannoli. Hubby was very impressed with all 3. I was loving the custard cannoli – the crunch of the pastry followed by the creamy custard and chocolate lined centre – but found the other 2 a little too rich for me. If you have a sweet tooth, this place will hit the spot big time!!!! The gent who served us was very friendly and took the time to talk to us about prices, tray selections etc.
It doesn’t matter how good your product is, without basic courtesy and an ounce of service, your business is nothing. What manager/owner is so busy that he does not have time to show his face for one minute so that he can explain that the price quoted yesterday (on a reasonably large order) no longer applies today as the sales person got it wrong?I personally will never return, nor will I ever recommend this business to anyone. There are a lot of great patisserie’s that do just as great a job, and show courtesy to the customer.
I went to Dolce & Salato Morley today with my bf, bought some pizza and sweets. We were served by a dashing authentic Calabrian guy who took great pride in his store and goods. The pizza was robust, aromatic, and served on an authentic base. The sweets were excellent; being full of flavour but not too sweet, me and my boyfriend devoured a whole tray of them without even thinking. Dolce and Salato is definitely worth a visit.
