Lovely little shop with a cheese room, groceries, deli and small cafe. I frequently buy the cannoli and it is always well sized and fresh — very pleased with my purchases. thecoffeedevotee.com
We come here for the cold meat mainly. The olive mortadella is very nice and fresh. We always get some chili salami and non chili for the kids as well. From time to time we get prosciutto and lombo mainly as a salty treat. Both are beautiful.They have a 50g minimum for shaved cold meats and service is always good and the servers are friendly.They also have fresh fruit but i don’t really know how good that is apart from a few bad experiences we’ve had with their kiwi fruit being rock hard.As a grocer they stock a lot of stuff you would get at a typical small grocer. The shop is a nice quaint little outfit and i hope they do well.
We have driven past this place a million times and always wonder if its a caf or Deli. Finally went in and discovered it is both.. What a fantastic selection of good quality groceries. Huge selection of cheese, and great quality produce. Even fabulous gift ideas for the foodie.They also sell hot dishes such as pizza, pies, lasagne, andalso a huge range of cakes, We optedfora slice ofpizza. $4.99.A bit disappointing, the dough wasa little thick and the cheese was tasteless. The only thing you could taste was the olives. The coffeesmells good, and next time I would try that. Keen to try again but maybe pass on the pizza.
Nice little continental deli in the heart of Harrisdale. Great selection of glutenfree foods particularly in the freezer, with specialty GF breads that no other local joint seems to stock (think Zehnder and Strange Grains). Cake cabinet is sinful — I fall for the mini canoli all the time and the glutenfree range is growing which is nice to see. However I don’t like how they empty a pack of supermarket GF biscuits into a jar and sell them individually at crazy prices.Bain marie is chockers with tempting hot foods but the little spinach-filled pastries are rather tasteless.Coffee is consistently good for the burbs
Been there so many times to buy their Orange Almond Cake. It’s soooo soooo good and probably the best orange cake I’ve ever tried. My second favourite was the Ricotta Cake followed by Chocolate Horns and Tiramisu (in small round container). WARNING: Do not buy Tiramisu sliced! It’s $3 cheaper but tasted horrible (sourced by different supplier I was told). I’ve had lunch there with friends. Pizza was ok. I quite like the lasagna. Salad was tasty too. However the Arancinis were disappointing. They were cold and didn’t have much taste. I’ve only had Iced Coffee the other day and it’s good. Gotta try hot version one day. Service was generally good and efficient.
Have been to their Harrisdale store several time since it opened in 2015. Great atmosphere with the up market look and high end products but probably located in the wrong area for products priced this high.The coffee is ok but the various pastries and cakes on offer look yummy but are not so good when you actually try them. No real flavour, just a sugar hit and a usually a bit stale. I keep trying hoping they will improve but after today I won’t bother.
