Came here for Mothers Day, good ambience but dim sum was hit and miss, average in quality. Need to lift their standard to match Northbridge, happy to try them again in few months time.
Polite and friendly service. Great food. Beautiful and relaxed atmosphere. Very clean. I really loved the food it was so good. Definitely goings back. Its always so packed lol. Which means it must be good
Went here nice and early on a Sunday. Nice, clean restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. The more senior staff were quite attentive and accommodating, however the waitstaff were less observant.Fresh and tasty dumplings were served, however the chicken feet had a strange marinade to it, the chilli paste tasted like spicy tomato sauce, and the tendons were slightly undercooked. I’d stick to the Northbridge usuals.
Had Yum Cha today and found the place buzzing. The food was generally good, a couple of misses were the fried calamari legs, tough and very dry, and the pork ribs? which were mainly chunks of bone and an overwhelming taste of reconstituted dried garlic! The dumplings were delicious, the desserts, ok.. service was speedy and considering the amount of diners, quite efficientWill go back again, there was lots of variety we didnt get to try
Don’t be fooled by the outside and setting. Looks fancy but I had the dinner menu and it was very average. The Dragon Palace special fried rice was like it came out from the microwave and it wasn’t even hot. The ho fun with egg sauce had no flavour and it tasted very fishy and salty. Very expensive for what you get on the table. Ho fun down the road from Kulcha is more tasteful and authentic! And much cheaper, half the price compared to here. Would not recommend this place
Ok… so tried the dim sum… nice but served way to cold… then went back for dinner… again nice but not all the food served was hot enough… service a bit patchy some staff really nice and attentive others a bit aloof… mix BBQ plate a little bit fatty… perhaps it was the crispy pork belly it could have been cooked a bit more… environment and setting top notch …nice and clean… will most definitely be giving it another try as its still early days to be to critical… if they iron out a few of the criticisms mentioned this place will be a wonderful addition to the joondalup dining scene…
Excited that there was yum cha place up this way. Only been open a week. Food was OK not spectacular. Really had mix feelings about the service. There were some wait staff who were great and others ok. Charging $2 per head for tea isn’t on. But it’s quite normal at yum cha now. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, clean venue and ok dishes. Will be back to give it another go once they are more settled in.
