Dragon Palace. Sister restaurant to its Northbridge home branch. Dim sum here isnt bad. But it is inconsistent depending on time of day and what you order. Having visited multiple times… my tips are:1. Dumplings – steamed are generally acceptable and even good. 2. Soups and made to order dishes can be variable. The hot and sour soup was thin, boring and an unanimous fail as we passed it from person to person. 3. Cold meats. If ordering roast pork or duck, ask for it fresh. The platters on the trolley are exposed to the air and often cold. 4. The fried squid tentacles here are often favourites. Theres nothing wrong with the traditional buns either. 5. Service – variable. Its a Chinese restaurant. Flag people down if you need anything. At least its not hard to get a seat on most days though does get busy from midday on Saturday. Not a lot of option really for dimsum this side of town and Dragon palace is perfectly acceptable. Ive dined dozens of times now.
