We visited on Father’s Day – staff were run off their feet, just one bar staff with a queue of 15 people in line waiting for service, 1hr 20min wait for meal to arrive – a few more wait and kitchen staff could help – not keen to revisit again in a hurry.
Had a massive delicious Sunday lunch! Perfectly paired with a schooner Photo says it all nice alfresco seating area to warm up under the sun
I don’t know why this place is rated so low. The food has improved over the years and is now very good, especially the schweinhaux, or pork knuckle (hope I spelled that correctly lol). The beers have always been great, as has the service, and the actual restaurant oozes character. I really like this joint
First time came here to order beef burger, actually not that fresh taste. Burger bun was too soft and cheese wasn’t melted. Quality worst that chef need to a prove.
Thank you for a delicious lunch! Prompt service, lovely, relaxed atmosphere- German fare at its best. A must do when travelling through the Swan valley; live music on Saturday, too.
6 of us spent a great day in the valley decided to have late lunch at Duckstein .. what a rip off!! $49 for a testing plate with not much on it at all!!!! some chicken skewers, 2 little sausages cut up, couple of bit of Camembert and some garlic mushrooms.WILL NOT visit again!!To top it of one of the outside umbrellas fell on our table and almost hit me (windy day I understand) non of the staff came out so we had to pick it pack it down and put it away
It’s ok. Much better places in the swan valley. The outdoor settings are outdated. Beers are good, food is not to bad. It is not somewhere I would go given a choice.
