If you love cheese then this will be heaven to you!! They have an amazing selection and can explain everything to you. The cheese boards are good value and SO GOOD
The best cheese selection in Perth! You have to go there for a taste if you are cheese lovers! We ordered the cheese plate shared for 4 plus the wine taste selection. Nice view and great service. Definitely will go back!
We got the 4 cheese selection to go with the breads. The seating area overlooking the field and forest is really nice. There is a cool breeze that, on the day, was unfortunately coupled with a man-made breeze from a lactose intolerant gentleman next table. The choice of cheeses was huge and the servers were very friendly. The bread they serve with the cheese is exceptional and the presentation of the board is visually pleasing. Will definitely come back here to try all the cheeses!
The cheese buffet was a foodie’s dreamCheck out my full review of The Cheese Barrel’s Unwind Sundowner at https://dessertstomachperth.wordpress.com/2016/11/09/cheese-barrel-unwind-sundowner/
A must for cheese lovers of Perth. Extensive menu, baked goods and desserts also available, lovely service, dog friendly, lots of parking. Loved the Labuche dAffinois, and loved the blue cheese paired with sweet tipple. Will definitely be back.
With a quintessential WA bush backdrop from the deck or the (dog and child friendly) downstairs area, the Cheese Barrel (Swan Valley, WA) has the setting sorted for a lazy graze of local wines and local and imported cheeses of every ilk.Our own thoughts for the day tended to the French Tasting Plate ($45) with associated wine matching ($15) augmented with a, much touted, Kytren Ashed Chevre ($9).The stand out cheese for us was the Labuche dAffinois (Soft White Mould, Cows Milk) served up with a local sparkling, which was possibly a little dry to be a perfect match. The match of the day went to the Fourme dAmbert (Blue Mould, Cows Milk) with a local late-picked Verdelho which had the perfect bite/sweet combination.Service was excellent, accommodating and friendly, the setting, fantastic, rendering this place a must for cheese lovers of Perth.
Omg this place is amazing!!!!! We came on a sunny Monday afternoon a few weeks ago and loved everything about it! Such a great selection of French cheese at reasonably prices. For blue cheese lovers you can’t go past the Fourme d’Ambert or Roquefort. Nice wines from the Olive Farm winery to accompany your cheese board. Just wish this place was closer to home, I’d be there weekly
