The pastries/doughnuts and sandwiches are awesome and so fresh, however I was a little disappointed with the custard tarts and things in the refrigerator to the back of the store as they werent fresh at all.. old fruit on the strawberry tarts and lemon curd tarts where they had gone hard on top as they were a bit old. But once you know the bad stuff from the good stuff there – the good outshines the bad!
I bought a Carrot Cake $34.95 for my husbands birthday…he was horrified it had mock icingObviously Lawleys cut costs by not using cream cheese icing…wont be buying one from Lawleys ever again
I came here for a little morning breakfast with my daughter as she loves pancakes … I ordered bruschetta with mushrooms and pancakes with banana … both would of been better placed in the bin … absolutely disgusting food and I will never be back as $36 for dried up tasteless and half rotten food is not how I enjoy a morning breakfast with my number 1 !
Great food! Always huge portions with decent pricing. Would recommend eggs benedict on a bagel for a nice Sunday morning breakfast! Coffee is also great
I’ve been away for a long while l thought I would have a big breakfast as they very good. Well what bad choice today. The toast was rock hard and burnt on the edges. Mushrooms. I never thought they could be cooked so dry. Two sausages are now two small ones which wouldn’t be one normal sausage. Not a very good experience. Never again
I bought about ten tarts from Lawleys Cafe Mt Lawley at 6am this morning to sell in my cafe as I missed the cutoff for ordering from my usual supplier. I asked the girl if they were getting any more stock in for the day and she said that this was it. When I got the pastries back to the cafe I had to throw all but 2 of them in the bin. The strawberries on top of the strawberry tarts were soft and spoiled, the apple pies had soggy bottoms and the pastry case for one of the lemon meringue pies was soft. The stock appeared to be several days old. Get your act together Lawleys.
Don’t want to complain but it is really a bakery. Don’t expect cafe level service etc but do expect cheap, plain food from a good menu. Coffee is nice, take home some fresh bread or other nice delights.
