A friend of mind mentioned that this place does fantastic cakes so when I drove past and the sign finally read open I was in there like a shot. The presentation case is truly beautiful – a glass top counter fit for a jewellery store showed every kind of cakey treat a girl could want. My eyes locked onto the glorious Mozart Torte and the adorable Carrot & Walnut cake. I was greeted by a very friendly girl (in a hair net, which impressed me – obviously OH&S is important here) who told me about the super light sponge filling in the torte. I promptly asked for a slice, along with the carrot & walnut cake and a custard horn for hubby. The custard horn was crunchy on the outside and silky smooth and creamy on the inside. Absolutely delicious. The Mozart torte was incredibly light but full of flavour, each layer of sponge and cream tasted amazing together. It was perfect. The carrot & walnut cake is being saved for tomorrow because I don’t want it all to be over just yet. If the horn and torte are anything to go by – it won’t disappoint. Definitely my new go to patisserie.
