Where do I start? This place is so up and down it might as well be a yo-yo. First try was excellent food and service. Second over and hour wait on food plus the the bar staff were rude. In particular the French guy who works bar. He told me to pay after I ordered one drink. I said I wanted to order Another plus food and told me to pay then order more. Didnt feel welcome after that. Go figure. 55 min wait on food. They are having a laugh. Recently reviewed the wembly for 5 stars but dropped it down a one due to the the wait staff being unapologetic. They were the most rude staff Ive seen and heard in Perth. Plenty of other places to go to near this old establishment avoid it. Youve been warned.
Really great bar on a Saturday with all the local sports teams from the Wembley oval having a post match drink and debrief. Great red brick indoor feature walls and high ceilings. Funky music from a live dj. Only had the sharing platter on this occasion which was nice but nothing special.
Cockroaches and poor service. Cockroaches all over the place outside. Surely can afford a few traps to solve that problem (it’s been like it for a couple of years now). Never called last orders, we were just told ‘sorry the tills are close you should have been told’ basically they all blamed each other for not doing so. I would avoid the place, has zero atmosphere and staff who just want to get home or go out irrespective of how often you go there.
Stopped by here the other day for a few glasses of wine with friends. A simple request one would think give it is a hotel that serves alcohol. But it wasn’t! Every single bottle we asked for was out of stock. Apparently the menu we were given was the old one.Ihad to request a copy of the so called new menu, which looked pretty much the same and surprise surprise the wines we requestedwere not in stock. Thecompletely clueless bar maids had no idea so they called overa rude little man to help serve. He just kept pushing 2 different winessay that was all they had.Disgraceful! I had let slidethe fact that the food we received on grand final day was repulsive but there is no excuse for horrendous service.
Have been to the Wembley twice now since the renovations have been completed and even though the buildings finished there is still so much work to be done on food and service. Everything I have tried (chicken wings, pizza, steak sandwich, chips, sausage rolls) have just been very average and are above average prices. They don’t serve pints but charge pint prices and service is just terrible. I really wanted to enjoy the Wembley as it would be a great local but unfortunately I won’t be back.
In the mood for a Saturday pub lunch was a little dissapointed that the items I choose werent available on the day so had to settle for more starters. Nothing special about the bread , sausage rolls ok served with good sauce and the chicken wings for me was so-so. On the other hand the rump steak was perfectly cooked with a yummy berinaise sauce.
This was hands down one of the best meals I have ever had in a Pub and still think about it! The entire atmosphere was great – great Craft Beer selection – exactly what I was hoping for. I didn’t expect the food to be as good as it was! Would absolutely come here again
