Excellent pastries, sweet and savoury. The pastry crust is thin and firm; the fillings delicious. Everything is reasonably priced (cash only) and service is friendly. Very much the local bakery for the suburb. I do wish the seating areas were s bit more attractive and comfortable.
Lovely location, neatly tucked away on the hill. However, overpriced and lacking the quality you’d expect. At $7.20 for a tiny fruit tart you’d expect something special. It was nothing special. The cofee was OK alrhough would have preferred stronger (cappuccino was a bit milky to be honest).
Heaven! It has to be the best patisserie shop in the hills. Yes it is slightly pricier than others but when it is that good who cares? It is hard to get a table during the weekends so get in early!
Cute little place! Been around since I was a kid and it’s always been a charm here Tucked away and always the best French pastries Worth the check out
I feel sorry for the staff there. I have been here many times on the weekend and there is the young girl on coffees and the gentleman rushing them out. Then I go to be served and there is another young lady going as fast as she can. Apologising for the wait when she is obviously going as fast as possible. Then multiple time there is a older man just standing there talking to customers, or even I have seen them ring the bell and he pokes his head out but stays out the back.I have now found out he is the manager.. I dont know how as I have only seen him talk to customers when there is a line or poking his head out and leaving it to the other staff. As a customer who has worked in hospitality I know the pain of lazy managers. It is not only horrible to the staff but as a customer it is offensive. They need to either get rid of him or give the other staff a rise. Or both.- on a positive note.. food is great
Nice coffee, stale desserts !. We heard so much about this place & it’s lovely French food, so my French partner & I headed up there for morning tea. We ordered tiramisu, fresh fruit tart and cappuccinos. Sadly the cappuccinos’ were the only thing that we enjoyed. The tiramisu was not only on the small side, but incredibly stale, very dry and lacked flavour. The fresh fruit tart was slightly better, but wasn’t exactly fresh. Now at $7+ per dessert in Paris, you’d expect perfection and that’s exactly what you’d get. But to charge those prices in Kalamunda while serving old stale unappealing and lack lustre desserts, doesn’t deserve the overcharge. My partner told the man behind the counter that the food was stale and all he said was ‘ That is strange ‘. That was it. Hence, we won’t be bitten twice & suggest you don’t risk it either.
Sigh. This favourite of fifteen years has dropped off the list. Service is terrible. Prices are now too high. It used to have French flair and insolence to the customer. Today only the insolence remains.
