Driftwood at the Mullaloo Beach Hotel hints at finer, seafood cuisine with its name but in fact serves up good old fashion pub grub.Think burgers, pizza, salt and pepper squid and a few seafood options. The fish tacos were my favourite, followed by the steak sandwich, which was thing strips of tender steak making it easy to eat.It is all very nice, tasty, hearty and well priced. Don’t expect light, delicate food options though, which seems a shame given its location and set up. Especially when you could sit at the pub next door for that sort of food (but it is nicer in the restaurant). A bar dominates the room but it is bright, airy with a lovely view. The service was very hit and miss. Every time we ordered drinks they were forgotten, but the food arrived promptly. To their credit the manager rectified the drink situation, which is much appreciated and what you’d expect.I suggest Driftwood for a big group catch up with hearty food that will appeal to most people.

The management and staff were the only saving grace for this experience. The food took over an hour and a half to come out. I felt extremely sorry for the amazing waitresses who did nothing but apologise for the kitchens behaviour and unprofessionalism in bringing out our food. Hopefully the place gets new owners soon, as this is the 3rd time we’ve been since the current owners took over and it’s still shocking (although now at least it’s table service).

Unfortunately was a little disappointed with the food. Service was fine and people were nice but the food was small sized. We had dishes with no sauce what so ever. Chicken was dry and the pasta had no sauce in it, it was just pasta, oil and mushrooms. I can cook better at home so was upset by the plain taste of the meals. Won’t be back sorry.

Went as a group and had the Barra with risotto which was amazing flavours and texture although it was a small portion of risotto but good size fish. Burgers and steak were all good the prawn pasta was a bit small for a $30 main course so 2 of the dishes were not filling. The restaurant has now changed from table service to pay at the counter which is strange due to the price and quality of the food.

Don’t go! Waited an hour for food and the manager was totally non-apologetic and cocky after it was brought to his attention. As per usual with Perth, great view/terrible establishment.

I am not someone to complain about food etc but went here for an christmas work party. Service was average. There was 10 of us so we did expect things to take a little longer… most got either burger or fish and chips and it took over 2 hours to get the mains. An entree of chicken skewers and garlic bread took over an hour!! Will never ever go back here!!! And to make matters worse after waiting this long, the food was terrible very small servings maccas does better burgers!

How bad has this Restaurant become…shocking. Real shame as location is tops.A tempura battered fish (Barra I think) was over cooked and dry to the extent of being inedible and the (not hand cut as stated on menu) chips under cooked. Salt and pepper squid was flavorless! This light lunch took just under an hour from order to arriving at the table.
