Had the nasi lemak takeaway. Good and fragrant rice, crunchy anchovies and peanuts but there wasnt enough Sambal and the Sambal wasnt spicy enough. The taste was more of a shrimp flavour and very tiny kick of chilli.
First impressions matter. We went in on a Saturday evening around 7:30. Only table so presume service will not be a problem. My big boss ordered the rochor mee. Small boss ordered the fish head bee hoon soup. I ordered the clay pot chicken rice. Rochor mee was alright, chilli was different. It contain more belachan (preserved prawn paste) then sambal (liquid chilli for lack of a better word). No complaints about the fish head bee hoon. The clay pot chicken rice is another matter though. Both the menu and the server taking my order notify you that there is a 25-30 minutes wait. Totally acceptable so when I was told about, I had no problem. Problem was when 8 pm arrive and went. Thought give them another 5 minutes. So at 8:10 (I cannot tell time obviously!) when up to the counter and spoke to the cook. He said he had no such order and they had ran out earlier already. Server came out. Saw me, saw the cook, saw the dining space when I sat was empty and it dawn upon her.But the first statement was Sorry I forgot to tell you we have ran out. Wow. 1 table. 3 orders. I reminded her that she mentioned about the wait time prior but could not remember to tell me they have ran out? She offered me a 10% discount as a formality but unfortunately it did not really matter. Like I said, first impressions count especially when you only have 1 table to cover. So safe to say will not be going back. People who are looking to get their fix of Singapore channel 5 and/or 8 will be delighted to know they have it in broadcast. They will however change it to suit their audience. When we were there, it was channel 8 then another group walked in and it was switched to channel 5 for their viewing pleasure.
