  I had some inter-state visitors staying at my house for a few days. On Saturday, I thought I would take them to this beautiful restaurant. My husband told me to call them to make sure they were open, as they are known to Be erratic with their opening hours. After checking their website, they said they were open for lunch on saturdays, so we drove the 80kms to get there. On arrival, signs along the highway and outside the restaurant said that it was open, however, the place was locked up, with a scribbled sign on the door saying ,’back at 5 pm.’ We were left hungry and seriously annoyed that we travelled so far to be disappointed. There is no doubt that the food here is lovely, and the building and surrounds are beautiful, but none of this matters if they are not open for business! To potential visitors: make sure you call before you make the drive!!!!

  The food was really disappointing today. My pork cracking was soft and chewy and rather fatty. I was suppose to have roasted veg but had boiled potatoes instead. The food is usually of a high standard, this is the first average meal I’ve had there in the last 3 years.—–09 Feb, 2014—–The food was really disappointed with lunch today.   Just short of excellent. Considering this place is a bit out of the way the food, surrounds and setting are fantastic. Brilliant coffee. A lovely surprise to find such a classy and beautiful place with food to match. Tasty and yummy food that came out quickly and was reasonably priced. Also very impressed to find a dedicated kids menu which my kids were very happy with. The only thing to complain about was the grumpy maitre d – get served by the friendly German girl and all will be good in the world.

  Beautiful building and surrounds, the staff are always friendly and the food arrives in good time. Many visits here, the menu has not changed in about a year, it needs to be. So once you have been a few times its nice to see a change especially for the locals.
