I have never expected real ‘Indonesian taste’ when I go to any Indonesian restaurant oversea, but surprisingly Iga penyet that I ordered tasted pretty nice. The sambal is spicy althou the meat a bit overcooked, but still tasted Indonesian
I’ll come back to this stall again and again because I am addicted to them. Although they dish out the same few dishes for their economy meals, it was always good. For me, their beef rendang is the juiciest in town and at a cheap price too!! Cassava leaf and eggplant is good too.
My favourite traditional Indonesian food in Perth. If you miss food from home, this is the place to go. My go-tos are Iga Bakar, Daun Singkong and the eggplant. I absolutely love the sambal on the Iga – it is SO spicey. The owner (or at least I think she’s the owner) is always friendly and says hi to my boys. I’ve eaten there several times over the past couple years and have never fallen sick. I know it’s a condescending thing to say – but I want to mention this because my partner and I had the worst food poisoning from ribs from a food truck last year. It made us appreciate restaurants like Waroeng Jakarta never made us sick despite having small kitchens.I wish I could eat here everyday. It has something for everybody.
Affordable Fast Nasi Campur is VERY nice the fish adds that oil in the fish in the curry then fuses with the rice making it Embrace the flavor in your mouth the curry is sometimes inconsistent on a certain day its very spicy sometimes balanced sometimes not spicy and you better pick the right cut of fish or not you will have all bone no flesh my advice Eat nasi campur or the Iga Bakar like seriously
Love the Ikan Kipas, Pecel Ayam and Ayam Penyet. It is really spicy though and I usually could not finish the Chilli. It takes quite long for the food to come though, so do not order from this stall if you are in a rush.
Yummy, affordable, authentic! Their iga penyet is so yummy. Beware the chilli is really spicy. Pempek is a bit hit and miss though, some days you get an over fried/hard pempek. But other than that, it’s one of my favourite shop in spencer village.
They have the best pempek (fish cake) so far. My fave is the sop buntut (oxtail soup) and their pempek. I would say that they have the most authentic Indonesian food here in Perth.
