Went on a weekday night and it was quite busy at Pappagallos, so I do recommend you booking ahead if you can.For food my friends and I ordered and shared: – Arancini $12: The arancini balls were packed with flavour and crispy on the outside. I really enjoyed the strong pecorino cheese flavour. – Pizza Suprema $26: A tasty pizza topped with lots of hot Italian sausage, salami, ham, roasted capsicum, olives and mozzarella. I would definitely order this again and would be keen to try their other pizzas on the menu. I also really liked how large the pizza size was which is a great option to share with a few people.- Risotto Pappagallo (Risotto of the day) $24: We had the Prawn Risotto of the day. The risotto itself was cooked really well and there was a lot of flavour however the let down was definitely the prawns. The prawns where tough and overcooked and we only got 4 pieces which was really disappointing. – Gnocchi of the day with crab meat $28: Firstly, the dish was a let down because there was hardly any crab meat in the napoletana sauce. Secondly, the overall flavour of the dish was a bit bland. For the price and size of the dish, I would not get this again. – Wine- I brought my own bottle of wine, which is permitted between Mondays – Thursdays for $8 per bottle (corkage). However, I do think this is quite pricey to charge someone $8 for their own wine! Overall a few hit and misses. I think the pizzas are really tasty and the staff was attentive and friendly. However, my friends and I left a bit unsatisfied after hearing such good things about this place. Personally, I wont be rushing back here to eat anytime soon.
Went here for the first time last night with 3 friends – glad I booked as it was packed. We started with Italian sausage and 2 calamaris – generous serves all round. We had two pizzas between us. Our meals were great (fresh and tasty) and the staff didnt rush us at any point. I took a bottle of champers and my friend had a cocktail. Our bill came to $116 (I dont think you can BYO on the weekends).

Amazing food! Had the mussels and shared them as a starter. Was a massive portion for an entree. The sauce they were in was delicious – we ordered more bread just to keep mopping it up.The pizzas are beautiful. Made in the proper Italian way, focusing on a good quality base and tomato sauce. Hope to come back if Im in Perth again.
With so many good reviews we were looking forward to trying Pappagallo. My only explanation for the average food was maybe because we ordered the wrong meals. The tagliatelle and gnocchi pasta dishes we ordered had no flavour and were bland. I was looking for the salt to add some flavour. We were hoping that the pizzaWould make up for it, however also had no flavour. Admittedly I think we should have chosen more wisely. The Arancini balls were probably the best I have tried. Willing to give it another go.
