Cool concept for a store, really enjoyed browsing the books whilst waiting for my take away lunch. Went with the Tuna & Sweet Potato Patty with two salads. It was very expensive for what it was. $20!!! If the dish had been amazing I wouldn’t have minded but it was average at best. The Tuna cake had the smallest amount of tuna, it was basically potato, and not nice smooth potato, large chunks of potato laced within the smoother bits. A little strange. There is rustic and there is RUSTIC. Salads were nice though – really enjoyed the Beetroot Salad. Very refreshing. Staff weren’t too friendly either which ruins the experience.
Wow, The Bodhi Tree is.fantastic. This is.my most special place to visit and i have been visiting.here for.years.. I love the new menu and.it.is.so.healthy too. Just.tried.the delicious zucchini salad and.the.tumeric latte with.almond milk was.even.better than the one i make at.home. It is really.helpful having.these great milk alternatives! Love the.books in.here, all the staff and the.place.of.course has a wonderful vibration. Jen, the new.owner, is.such a.shining light and putting in such a great effort. Everyone should.visit this.place for a.drink with friends, for lunch or.to browse through the.books.
The Bodhi Tree is a tranquil place to have a coffee a/o something to eat. The Bodhi Tree is a place to hide away for a while, to re-energize. Regularly my husband and I spent sometime at the this book cafe playing a game, which is on every table. The books are predominantly spiritual titles about well-being, mindful living and anything else to make the mind and body thrive, of both adults and children. There’s a children’s play area. The food is pleasant, the coffee is fine, the people working in this gem of a place are truly friendly.
Off to the Bodhi Tree again to meet a friend. Love this unique little bookshop cafe where you can have a cuppa or lunch and the food is always fresh and healthy whatever you choose. My favourite is the vegetable patty with salad and I love their chai latte….check it out
I do really like the bookstore caf concept. Though there actually aren’t that many books here. But anyway, the feel of the place is good. They seemed very unorganised. We were here at lunchtime, so there were about four orders close to ours, and 3/4 of the tables were occupied (mostly by 1 or 2 people) which is probably busier than the rest of the time. We asked for the toasted sandwich from the menu, but were told they were out, but there were the veg ones left in the cabinet that could have ham added to them. So I guess that meant they were out of bread, cheese, spinach, or tomato at 12:45pm, which seems disorganised. Also ordered a muffin from the basket. I thought the wait would be a bit quicker than it was, but there seemed to only be one person in the kitchen/on til, and one person making coffee/bringing out food. When we got the toasted sandwich, they had forgotten the ham, so we took it back, as we had paid the extra for it. Adding ham in and then toasting it a little more shouldn’t have taken more than a couple of minutes, but it did, and while we were waiting another table’s food got brought out, and one of their two meals were incorrect. Both the muffin and the sandwich were nice, and averagely priced, so it’s not like it was a horrible experience; it just gave me no reason to want to return (especially considering the amount of other food places in the area) unless it was empty. There were a good range of vegetarian options.
Just a nice place in a bookstore. Coffee is ok. Not a lot of room for sit ins tho. I think it’s a bookstore with a coffee shop but some might think otherwise. All round ok I guess
This cafe has a lot going for it. Sadly, the management does not adhere to Buddhist principles of honesty and fair dealing when it comes to staff, who are denied full award conditions – family leave etc, and are paid a minimal hourly rate. Anyone who requests proper conditions will be told they don’t suit the place, and dismissed on the spot. They get away with this because everyone thinks it would be a lovely place to work.If you come regularly you will notice the high turnover of staff – there is a reason!
