This is our local fish and chip shop. We haven’t been here for years as it was always very average. However we had heard it had been taken over , thank goodness !! We had fish and chips for 2, $23 . Generous serve, and we were surprised how nice it was. Chips crunchy and fish was nice too. Two young lads running the show, and looked like they cared which is great to see. I would try again and recommend this place ..However they do need to get an eftpos machine, as that drives me nuts .. just forward on the small fees for the machine to the customer, rather than saying cash only !!

Great fish and chips.Shopfront is pretty basic but the fish is good, batter is crisp and not greasy.Always been happy with the food and service.

I live locally and $3 worth of chips ended up being finished in the car on the way home. The stingiest serve of chips I’ve ever seen in my life. The fact that the chips were nicely cooked gave them a 1.5 instead of a woeful 1. Will not be back and wouldn’t recommend.

This is undoubtedly the BEST fish ‘n chips my family and friends have ever tasted. Fish cooked to perfection in a light crispy batter, chips crunchy on the outside with light fluffy centres the way twice-cooked chips should be, and the prawns are just to die for. Scott, Beth and Rhys are extremely good at what they do – provide consistently top quality, excellent value for money fish and chips. We couldn’t recommend Holy Mackerel more highly.

This business was recently taken over and renamed Holy Mackerel. Under the previous owners watch we gave it a wide berth as their food was very underwhelming. So we gave the new business a try tonight and ordered some battered shark and chips. We were very happy with what was served. Fish quality was excellent and batter was thin and not oily. Chips were likewise. Highly recommended and it will now be our first choice for good fish and chips.

I’ve been very impressed with Holy Mackerel since the rebranding. The place looks so much cleaner, the fridges are full and the staff are much better (they don’t have their earphones in listening to music like they did under previous management!). The fish could use a little more flavour and the chips are obviously bought frozen, but it’s satisfying.

I really enjoyed the first time I tried Holy Mackerel it was the best fish and chips I ever tasted. I loved the way the fish came in a seperate box to the chips so the fish didn’t get soggy.
