Been frequenting Sunny Wok for years, and I always love their noodles and fried rice. After getting off a 22-hour flight, I decided to go back and try the Katsu chicken rice bowl as I hadn’t had that for a while. When I came to eat it a few hours later, I found the chicken was COMPLETELY RAW. Not even just pink, it was fully raw. Unfortunately by the time I’d discovered this, the store had closed, so I couldn’t take it back. Very disappointed as I’ve always had a decent experience here.
I must say I just brought noodles from sunny wok and it is absolutely disgusting and have never felt so sick after it I took one mouth full and that was it what a waste of money!!
Back to wok master we go. We really really wanted to like this restaurant, something different from our usual and they have bento boxes! Yes I’m a sucker for bento. But on a quiet Saturday night with only the family of the owners in sight, we should have followed our gut instincts to walk out that door. Ordered teriyaki beef bento, and I’m still trying to work off all that MSG from the back of my throat. Left me feeling very thirsty and the so called ‘teriyaki beef’ was just the marinated beef slices that you would normally get from a Chinese stir fry/ beef satay (if you can imagine the texture that I’m getting at). Overall a very salty, MSG-filled disappointing meal. We won’t be going back 🙁
Fantastic food and service, I live down the road and look forward to a lovely meal each time. I have never had any complaints. Strongly recommend.
