We’ve been here twice. Our first trip was on a cold, wintry day. The bar was quiet and cosy. We had some nibbles and beers which hit the spot. The second time was on a very warm day and the place was packed. The kitchen and staff struggled to keep up with orders. We were told there was an hour wait for food and we were fine with that. After an hour and a half, most of our table had been served and finished but two of the seven meals has been sent to the wrong table which resulted in another long wait. Our server was apologetic and gave us two beers to compensate so it a bad result really.
I love this spot but my rating is only a 3 as the food very average. But the scenery, ambience, games and activities are fantastic. We ordered two pizzas and the jerk chicken. The pizza’s came out quickly but I waited ages for my chicken. Pizza’s tasteless. The chicken was beautifully presented but lacked flavour as was supposed to be jerk chicken. I’ve had jerk chicken in Barbados and at home and this doesn’t even come close. The salad was supposed to have black beans and came with about 5 beans. Disappointing. So I wouldn’t bother returning for the food but would return to hang. (also the lines can be very long to order drinks and food but it was a long weekend after all)
Went there for lunch the other day with the family. Service, facilities, speed, etc was all excellent. Friendly, helpful staff. Great place for kids. However, the food we ordered was not pleasant. We ordered chips, chicken wings and a pepperoni pizza. Chips were great, wings were just ok, but the pizza was an oily sloppy mess and inedible. It rarely happens but our family left the restaurant with a fair bit of food on the table.
Grabbed a quick meal here on the way home from Margaret River. We had Chilli squid: fried squid with cucumber, papaya and mint salad, hot and sour dressing; Fish and Chips: colonial beer battered fish with chips and salad, tartare sauce and lemon; Pepperoni pizza: parmesan, pepperoni, basil and mozzarella; and Nachos: spicy bean chilli, guacamole, cheese, jalapeño, tortilla chips. We enjoyed the pepperoni pizza and fried squid. The fish and chips were ok, but the bed of chips that the fish was served on was warm and not hot (like it had been fried way before hand then put on the plate). The Nachos were not bad too. Lots of beans and love the jalapeños.
It’s a very decent place to have a few beers, the Australian beer was really nice. It has a good sandy view which was very raw and nice to chill out.3/5
