WOW get a friggen clue people, we recently went here and although a great quaint little restaurant the staff have no idea, firstly they have long bench tables in the front section and i am there having a romantic weekend away with my wife and wanted a nice meal in a cosy setting somewhere we could chat have a great evening so what do these people do?, they stick us between two families with kids, all i am hearing is kiddy talk from both sets of kids and parents, so i ask if we could move somewhere else they say no we got people coming in, after 20mins of this i get up to see the manager and ask to be seated elsewhere so they put us in the inner section with a fire place, was that so darn hard?then the food comes out, now i am italian and i know italian food, the risoto i had was un-eatable to me and i left it there, it had a strange taste, the wifes lasagna was ok but a very average night indeed. all i can say is get a clue

As an Italian restaurant, the stuck pasta is not supposed to be served on the table. The worst pasta ever had. Also the restaurant had a very negative attitude about the fair criticism. Well, it’s a shame of Margaret River Town.

Some of the best pasta we have ever eaten! A must try if staying in the Margaret River area – recommend booking a table during peak visiting season. The handmade pasta is delicious, all the flavours are interesting and creative (not just ‘standard’ Italian dishes) and the staff are lovely.

La Scarpetta Trattoria drew us in from the road as we drove into Margaret River. We just had to eat here because the lovingly restored oldest building in town beckoned. Once inside and ordered our dinner we knew this was going to be a great gastronomical experience and we were not disappointed. We have dined in many Italian restaurants in Australia and La Scarpetta clearly tops them all. The food is prepared by an authentic Neapolitan chef and his skills and love of cooking clearly come through. The manager and staff are wonderful and the Mirto digestivo at the end of our meal capped off one of the best dining experiences we have ever had in Australia. If we ever comeback back to the river it will be because of La Scarpetta.
